At Grace of Sweden, we work with every garment with the utmost respect for materials, details and memories. Lace, silk and embroidery are carefully preserved and integrated into a new design – created especially for your child’s christening day.

Each christening gown we create is a personal couture project. Together with you, we discuss shape, details and how the fabrics from your dress can be used in the best possible way.

Important information regarding alteration of the customer’s garment

When we work with a customer’s own wedding dress or other personal garment, it always involves handcrafted work where the material already has its own history and unique characteristics. As each garment is unique, technical challenges, material limitations or misunderstandings regarding the design and expected result may occasionally occur.

By ordering a redesign, the customer acknowledges that the original garment will be permanently altered and that it may not always be possible to recreate or restore it to its original condition. Garments with sentimental value therefore cannot be replaced with an equivalent original garment.

If, despite careful dialogue and planning, we cannot agree on the final result, or if a technical issue arises during the work process, compensation may instead be offered in the form of a christening gown from our “Popular Products” collection.

We therefore recommend that you carefully consider the decision to alter a garment with significant sentimental value before the work begins.
