Getting to work as a costume designer

Costume designer Tina Olofsson

Already in high school I had been advised by my photo, film and video teacher, Fride Ek, that the best way to get
your dream job was to start working for free, be damn good, and make sure to make yourself indispensable. I thought
immediately: I'm going to do that! However, it would not turn out to be that simple. In order to get a permanent position at the theater
I quickly realized that I would have to study tailoring, which I did in parallel with my internship
at the theater.

My internship was five years longer than I thought before I got my first temporary job. But I got to develop and
learned an incredible amount in Teater Västernorrland  creative environment.
